CC&R Project Update - Our new CC&Rs are needed to comply with Idaho state law.  They have been reviewed by our legal counsel and are reasonable.  They are not overly restrictive, yet they protect our property values.  We need your vote for them to be enacted.  If you haven’t already voted, please vote! Please take a few minutes to review the explanation of changes and the entire CCR document (links below).  Then click on this email blwhoaboard@gmail.com, list your lot number(s) and send us your vote - "yes" or "no".

BEAR LAKE FIRE DISTRICT OFFICIAL BALLOT LANGUAGE
 
BEAR LAKE FIRE DISTRICT OFFICIAL BALLOT LANGUAGE – PERMANENT OVERRIDE LEVY BEAR LAKE COUNTY, IDAHO BALLOT QUESTION Shall the Board of Commissioners of the Bear Lake Fire District be authorized, pursuant to Idaho Code §63‑802(1)(h), to permanently increase the District’s property tax budget limitation to allow a levy rate not to exceed 0.00060 (six-hundredths percent) of taxable assessed value, beginning October 1, 2026? The revenues from this levy shall be used to staff, equip, operate, and maintain fire protection and emergency services. This levy shall be permanent and shall become part of the District’s established base budget. STATEMENT OF IMPACT The proposed permanent levy is estimated to result in a tax of approximately $60.00 per $100,000.00 of taxable assessed value per year, based on current assessed values. Actual taxes may vary based on future assessed valuations and changes in taxable property. VOTING OPTIONS  YES – I am in favor of authorizing the permanent levy rate up to 0.00060 of taxable assessed value for the Bear Lake Fire District.  NO – I am against authorizing the permanent levy rate up to 0.00060 of taxable assessed value for the Bear Lake Fire District

‼️ MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT ‼️ Kathi and Ed Izatt have arranged for Chief Mark Parker of the Bear Lake Fire District to meet with Fish Haven voters, friends and owners to talk with us about the District's proposal to significantly increase its annual revenue via an override levy during May's primary election. He and a representative from the District's Board will meet with us on Thursday, March 12, at 7 PM at The Reserve's Clubhouse. Please bring your questions and curiosity. The levy outcome will be important to us!

The Bear Lake West Amenities Board is scheduling a Bonfire event on Saturday, February 14, 2026! 
 
Please join us at the Bear Lake West Golf Course burnpile, located just North of Coopers Restaurant.
 
We will be serving hot cocoa and cookies. Starting at 6:00pm!

Dogs
Please be aware of the HOA, County and State regulations related to dogs in Bear Lake West HOA, Bear Lake County and the State of Idaho.  Dogs are to be under the control of the owner at all times.  
 
Dogs caught chasing deer and other big game animals can be seized, owners fined and/or the dogs destroyed by enforcement personnel. Farmers are allowed to kill dogs caught harassing their livestock. 
Please be responsible for your sake and the sakes of your dogs and wildlife.  
 
Additionally, it is common courtesy to pick up your dog's feces when it eliminates on another owner's property or on roads in the HOA.  Be a good neighbor and clean up after your dog.  
 
NEW OWNERS - Please visit the link on the home page for new homeowners.  Both the new homeowners and the FAQ pages answer many common questions.
 
ALL OWNERS - An approved Building Application is required prior to beginning new projects that modify your property. Any architectural construction or structural changes require a Building Application.  Any additions, alterations, garages, sheds, or landscaping require a Building Application, also. Please contact the Environmental Control Committee for more info. The Building Application form is found on the website under the HOA and County Documents tab.
